Sportfish
Built to go get them, far offshore

A tower, a fighting chair and the range to reach the fish. Sportfish boats are built around one purpose and they do it better than anything else — the trade is fuel burn and a hull that wants deep water. From South Florida the Gulf Stream is close enough that a good sportfish turns a day trip into serious fishing.
What it is good for
- Offshore trolling: sailfish, mahi, tuna, marlin
- Tournament fishing out of Miami, Lauderdale and Palm Beach
- Long runs in a following sea
What to watch for
- Fuel burn is the real cost of ownership, not the sticker.
- The tower adds serious air draft — measure it against every bridge on your route.
- Diesel service is specialized; find your mechanic before you need one.
The dock it needs
Needs depth and no fixed bridges, same as a motor yacht of the same length. A tuna tower makes clearance the binding constraint more often than dock length does.
