A tender is what turns an anchorage into a destination: without one, a big boat at anchor is a boat you cannot leave. Kayaks and paddleboards do the same job for waterfront homeowners — the mangrove creeks at Oleta and the Everglades are only reachable by paddle.

What to watch for
- Inflatables degrade in Florida sun — cover them or expect a short life.
- Small outboards get stolen; lock them.
- Kayaks still need a visible light after dark and are hard for a powerboat to see.
The dock it needs
Needs nothing but a seawall step or a small floating platform. On a waterfront home a kayak rack and a step down to the water are cheap additions that get used constantly.
